In the creation of diverse print and digital media for the independent hairstylist, Hair by DVS, I took charge of the project, showcasing my skills in illustration, typography, layout, and print design. Leveraging tools such as Illustrator and InDesign, I crafted a visually appealing and cohesive brand presence across various media, ensuring a seamless integration of the previously designed logo.
Inspired by the funky and groovy aesthetics of the '70s/80s with a modern twist, the design captures the era's bold colours, psychedelic patterns, retro typography, and experimental spirit. Featuring graphic spirals and a sparkling disco ball, the warm-hued palette with hints of cool tones adds a nostalgic yet modern touch. Balancing nostalgia with contemporary appeal is key in achieving the vibrant and soulful vibes reminiscent of the '70s.
The project was completed for the client, Danielle Van Seters, who credits Donna Wedge for the logo design. The collaboration resulted in a professional and fun representation of Hair by DVS across both traditional and digital mediums.
