City of Duncan – Utility Box Beautification Project Submission – Mary-margret

City of Duncan

Illustration, Branding, Typography, Layout

I submitted my artwork to The City of Duncan's initiative focused on beautifying utility boxes with public art. The call was open to local artists, inviting us to share copies of our original pieces that best represent our community. These pieces will then adorn utility boxes in and around Duncan's downtown, adding a touch of creativity to the urban landscape.

When crafting my submission, I aimed to evoke a sense of intrigue and playfulness, hoping to engage viewers with my artwork. I drew inspiration from the unique character of the Cowichan Valley, celebrating its landscapes and ecosystems. Additionally, my art seeks to honor the diversity and culture within the city, reflecting the richness of our community. This showcase includes a mockup of the utility box.
